The World of Cezanne 1839 - 1906
This poster is of Claude Monet’s Highway Bridge at Argenteuil. It shows a bridge over the Seine River, with three boats on the water of varying sizes. This poster measures approx. 16″ x 20″ Claude Monet (November 14, 1840 - December 5, 1926) was a French painter and a founder of Impressionism. He was a practitioner of its philosophy of expressing one’s perceptions before nature. The term Impressionism is derived from the title of his painting Impression, Sunrise. Monet was fond of painting controlled nature: his own garden in Giverny, with its water lilies, pond and bridge, and up and down the banks of the Seine.
