Customer Review: A great version of the score
Boosey and Hawkes have excelled themselves by producing this score. It features a detailed introduction by Malcolm MacDonald, who clearly and succinctly details the history and music of this groundbreaking work. The score itself is very clearly laid out. It is a very complex work, and many scores have the notes crushed into as small a space as possible, but Boosey and Hawkes took the decision to spread the staves out and print it on rather large paper. The large orchestra and many notes make this imperative when deciding on a copy for your personal collection. If using the score for analysis purposes (as most buyers will), their is sufficient space to make short notes, even for those with large handwriting like myself. I would certainly recommend this to anyone analysing the work simply because of the clarity and preface, and it certainly beats the pocket score I was forced to work from before I found this.
